Graduate/Junior Consultant – Data Engineering & Analytics 

As a Graduate Consultant you will work under the direction and support of senior colleagues in small project teams to design, implement and support solutions for our clients. This will involve learning about and working with a variety of technologies as well as developing professional consulting and problem-solving skills.  

A typical engagement will see you working with a wide variety of different types of client data, designing and implementing appropriate data models, pipelines and then building insightful analytics from client requirements to enable them to make evidence-based decisions based in real time. Clients include large organisations, both multinational and UK based, in finance, transport, energy, cyber-security, public sector, manufacturing, and others.  

We will give you hands on experience of core technologies, including Splunk and Cribl, which we currently use on several projects, as well as others. We will invest in your progress to becoming a knowledgeable consultant with expertise in relevant technology areas.   

Day to day in the role: 

• Collating information from primary and secondary data sources 

• Liaising with clients to understand their needs, insights, and motivations 

• Assisting clients with your technical expertise to solve problems 

• Communicating the value of data and data-driven approaches to clients 

• Pro-active problem solving 

• Learning about new technologies and frameworks 

• Developing reports and other customer facing artefacts

  A strong educational background to degree level in a STEM subject, or equivalent experience   

  A drive to solve problems 

  An analytical approach to data 

  Outstanding teamwork skills 

  A high standard of communication skills, both written and verbal 

  Professionally oriented, with demonstrable customer-facing skills 

•  Preferred additional traits and skills: 

  Experience working in a security operations centre (SOC) or IT operations environment  

  Experience with any of Splunk, Sentinel, AWS, Azure, networking, system administration, data analytics tools 

  Demonstrable ability to spot opportunities with clients, promoting proactive solutions and development
